It would be helpful if you could explain the split that has occurred within the Gulf Cartel (CDG). How is it that a faction of them has now allied itself with Sinaloa? Did all of the Zeta’s stay with the original part of the Gulf Cartel, or are the Zeta’s becoming an independent force of their own?
Also … while all of this fighting is tragic for the towns in Mexico – surely the main thing to wonder is whether Guzman is slowly gaining the upper hand over everybody?? It seems as though the Mexican Gov’t is having success attacking some cartels (such as Beltran Levya and Tijuana), but Chapo is evading them. Maybe Chapo just taking advantage of all these developments, to solidify his position as the eventual winner?
